Why Space Buns Cause Breakage During Removal
Space buns create multiple tension points. The bun, the elastic, and the braid structure all hold tension. If removed in the wrong order, that tension transfers directly to the root.
Step 1: Remove the Elastic First
Always expose the elastic before cutting. Cutting blindly can damage natural hair.
Step 2: Release the Bun Structure
Do not pull the bun apart. Open the structure first so it naturally releases.
Step 3: Separate Extension Hair
If extension hair is used, remove it before working on natural hair.
Step 4: Use a Rat Tail Comb
Use the comb to gently open the braid structure instead of pulling.
